چکیده

We have measured the transport properties of two mesoscopic hybrid loops composed of a normal-metal arm and a superconducting arm. The samples differed in the transmittance of the normal/superconducting interfaces. While the low transmittance sample showed monotonic behavior in the low temperature resistance, magnetoresistance and differential resistance, the high transmittance sample showed reentrant behavior in all three measurements. This reentrant behavior is due to coherent Andreev reflection at the nor-mal/superconducting interfaces. We compare the reentrance effect for the three different measurements and discuss the results based on the theory of quasiclassical Green's functions.

We calculate the quasiparticle contribution to the zero temperature Hall conduc-tance of two-dimensional extreme type-II superconductors in a high magnetic field, using the Landau basis. As one enters the superconducting phase the Hall conduc-tance is renormalized to smaller values, with respect to the normal state result, until a quantum level-crossing transition is reached. At high values of ...

Proximity dc squids in the long-junction limit

We report the design and measurement of superconducting/normal/superconducting SNS proximity dc squids in the long-junction limit, i.e., superconducting loops interrupted by two normal metal wires, which are roughly a micrometer long. Thanks to the clean interface between the metals, a large supercurrent flows through the device at low temperature. The dc squidlike geometry leads to an almost c...

The gap anisotropy in Bi 2 Sr 2 CaCu 2 O 8+δ is revisited in the framework of a d-wave scenario in view of the recent angle-resolved photoemission experiment. Based on a tight-binding fit to the normal state dispersion, a detail analysis on the effects of the inclusion of the next harmonic in the d-wave has been presented. Significant effect has been observed in the superconducting T c. The den...

The gauge dependence of the renormalization group functions of the Ginzburg-Landau model is investigated. The analysis is done by means of the Ward-Takahashi identities. After defining the superconducting order parameter, it is shown that its exponent β is in fact gauge independent. This happens because in d = 3 the Landau gauge is the only gauge having a physical meaning, a property not shared...

We suggest to use ‘fluctuation spectroscopy’ as a method to detect granularity in a disordered metal close to a superconducting transition. We show that with lowering temperature T the resistance R(T ) of a system of relatively large grains initially grows due to the fluctuation suppression of the one-electron tunneling but decreases with further lowering T due to the coherent charge transfer o...
